The Gross and Net Calorific Value, Gross and Net Wobbe Index, Density, Relative Density, Compressibility and Stoichiometric Air-Fuel Ratio are calculated with variable reference conditions. Check the standard reference conditions in your region to ensure correct results.

This calculator uses ISO 6976:2016 and GPA 2172-19 to determine the Wobbe Index, Calorific Value, Density, Relative Density and Compressibility of a natural gas blend. The Methane Number is calculated using ISO 23306:2020.

The Air-Fuel Ratio is calculated on a volumetric basis with the oxygen in air assumed to be 20.946% by volume.

The calculator is developed by Bright Sensors SA and the same calculation is deployed in our plug & play and affordable gas quality analyzers like the BlueEye™ Ex-D and the BlueEye™ Mobile.
